Recently we had a couple of Aussies come to stay over. One was my brother D, and another was his workmate T. His girlfriend, who I shall call E, came a bit later.
During the visit they went all over Japan. While they were at my house though, I forced them to play Carcassonne: The City, time and time again:

We also taught them all about the famous Japanese cuisine - specifically TAKOYAKI!
What happens when a group of Japanese students have a school camp and play a simplified role-playing game? Watch and find out. This episode starts with an explanation of the rules for the kids, and a little sorting through the miniatures that will be used.

December 28th 2008 is going to be my RPG day held here in Nishinomiya at my school – Bears. I will be running a D&D 4th edition game for people to try, although if somebody else wants to run a different game too, we can certainly make time. As a note, I have some dice, but if you BYO that would help immensly.
Apart from that there are two quick things to cover – Creating characters for the game; and how to get here! First, here are some quick guidelines for the characters:

Present shopping!

It’s always hardest to shop for people who rarely leave your side for more than 30 minutes. I have to plan a commando run all the way to Sannomiya, and even then she knows exactly why I’m going. It’s easy to know what to get her though. Her hints are about as subtle as tabasco.
I’ll post more when I make the run!

Of course, linked from Penny Arcade…
Of course number two is going to be a girl (I’ve got a two in five chance of being right…)

I’m Australian, so I have no idea how D&D is played in the US or other countries (except Japan of course). It occurred to me that the reverse is also true. There are people in the world who don’t know how the game is played in Australia! Well, to remedy that, let me give you a youtube!

That’s right you sons of mothers! So get in there before a certain Rob steals all your XP!

..and not only that, the Samurai RPG is almost ready to go as well (wait for applause to die down).
Thankyou thankyou, you’re all too kind. So what I need everyone to do is to sign up for this bad boy and create a character sheet. One we have an online character sheet through Mythweavers, I’ll be able to work my magic. This is, I believe, the easiest way for me and therefore the best way. Rob has kindly made his contributions, now its time for the rest of you shodding baconfed cozened rogues to do your part.
Puh-leeeeeeeeeeeze….
UPDATE
Due to the overwhelming underwhelming response of people signing up for the Samurai RPG, I have decided there is going to be a lucky door cash price! If by cash you mean ‘experience’ then this is definitely true.
To be eligible, you need to apply to join the Technomancer game and have created a character sheet named after your character. Thats it. All you need is to have entered a name… just to show you’ve tried. Once that is done, post on the forum and claim your prize!
Positions and prizes
- (Already claimed by Rob) – you get a very special piece of equipment…
- 1d4×10 +10 exp!
- 1d3×10 +10 exp
- 1d3×10 exp
- The booby prize
So do it! DO IT NOW!

Character Rpins will be rewarded!
In the meantime, check out this website. I really hope it works, I have no idea if I have to invite you each to be participants or what, if I do I couldn’t find where to do it. (Robchan! Choto kite kudesai!)

Well I”m happy to say that the characters are developing and I’ve almost finished the first campaign. Hopefully it will be a fun one, though there is still a lot of work to Go. I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to do the quiz. The results are not by any measure final, so I’ll post all the characters here for you to take a look at and you can swap and change or make new suggestions as you like! I had some pictures that I wanted to put in as well, but they didn’t work
next time!
OGATA (Doug P) ninja
Swift. Silent. Deadly. You are a skilled swordsman, trained since birth in the unique sword arts of the mysterious Great River clan. After your father betrayed your clan, you narrowly avoided the retribution of your clan lord, turning your hand variously as sword for hire, assassin and body-guard. Although largely unburdened by any contrition over your family’s death, you have never been able to let go of your clan’s attempt to kill you. So sure, you’ll fight – only because after that, you can kill Katsuhito. If you both survive.
Perks

· Broad range of specialist skills
· Stealth ability
Role Melee/specialist skills
NAKAMURA (Rob) Gun-priest
You were born of a distant foreign land. Raised in the tradition of the ‘gun-fathers’, you were taught to worship the sacred technologies given to your ancestors, so when the opportunity arrived to steal away on the foreign ships, you could not resist. But finally, you narrowly survived when your ship was destroyed by a great water-serpent to be marooned on the Isles. Now, you seek a way of returning to your homeland. Normally a pacifist and philosopher, you have survived death before. But while you accept you cannot change the events that led to you being stranded in this land, you join the party to do some good. Besides, with the chance to test out your new guns, are you REALLY going to say no?

KAI (Doug S) Wizard
You were once a member of the illustrious Onmyoji, this formerly prestigious group of imperial wizards that became outcast with the usurpation of the Imperial Court by Masahide. Since that time, you have turned your arts to street-performances to survive. You are a daredevil and thrill-seeker – the chance to fight overwhelming odds and chase adventure is too strong for you to pass up! After all, the arcane arts are too easy – you need a real challenge now! Yours may be a ‘life for sale,’ but you can’t wait to see how this whole thing is going to play out.

You gleefully charge into trouble without a thought of how you’re going to get out of it again. But when the chips are down, you are a powerful warrior and any weapon is lethal in your hands – as long as you hit the right thing with it!

Compassionate, proud, and skilled, you seek your revenge against your husband’s murderer.

THE RUNNERS-UP
FUDABA
Once the ideal samurai, you have become somewhat disillusioned with the martial caste and its ideal, as well as yourself. The fun-loving best friend of Fudaba, you shared the same master, whom you met after turning you back on Great River Clan, your ancestral clan. You believe life you be fun, even though that fun means putting your life on the line to face numerous threats and leaving behind an irate geisha girlfriend. Besides, you have your own reasons for wanting to go along. When you were a child, you gave up a portion of your spirit to host a demonic spirit.
